What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a UK government initiative that allows charities like Urunji Child-Care Trust to reclaim 25% of your donation from HMRC, provided you're a UK taxpayer.
How does it help Urunji Child-Care Trust?
It allows us to raise more funds from the same donation. For every £10 you give, we get an additional £2.50. That’s vital support for our life-saving programs.
Do I need to donate a certain amount?
No — any amount qualifies for Gift Aid as long as it's a personal donation and you’ve paid enough UK tax to cover it.
Can Gift Aid apply to past donations?
Yes, we can claim Gift Aid on donations made in the last four years, as long as you were a UK taxpayer during that time and complete a valid declaration.
Does Gift Aid affect my tax status?
No — your tax situation remains the same. However, if you're a higher-rate taxpayer, you can even claim the difference on your tax return.
What if my tax situation changes?
Just let us know if you stop being eligible. You’ll avoid any potential issues, and we’ll stop claiming Gift Aid on future donations.
