Internship Opportunity
Urunji Child-Care Trust is a registered NGO in Malawi, registration number TR/IN/5564. We work with rural communities to improve their livelihoods and to support children from their communities. Urunji is not an orphanage.
The Trust seeks to engage an intern who will be responsible for proposal writing and proof reading. The post is available immediately. The placement is for a period of 6 months.
The ideal candidate must be in their final year of training at an accredited higher education institution. Those who just completed their tertiary education are also eligible.
The intern will research on grants and in collaboration with the Programme Officer, identify opportunities, prepare proposals and submit them to potential donors following approval of the Executive Director.
Desired competencies
The intern must have an excellent command of spoken and written English. S-he must also demonstrate basic computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
Tenure and compensation
The ideal intern will be given an internship allowance to cover basic living expenses. As it is not a full-time job, the intern is not eligible for gratuity at the end of their placement.
Urunji may consider offering a two-year renewable employment contract to a candidate who achieves the desired outcomes within their 6 months of placement.
